Am I sinful? Yes, I am! Do I fail God daily? Yes, I do! I sin and fall short of God’s glory. I am only set right by His gift of grace by Yeshua’s (Jesus) atoning sacrifice (Romans 3:23-241 John 2:2). Romans 5:12 tells me, sin came into the world through one man, Adam, and death comes through sin and death spread to all men, this same way, because all people sin.

And what do I mean by sin? Here is the definition – an offense against the law of God. So, engaging in sin is engaging in lawlessness (1 John 3:4) therefore sin is lawlessness. Sin separates me (and you) from my (our) heavenly Father (Romans 6:23).

Back when The Passion of the Christ came out into the theaters, I was not a believer in God and honestly, Jesus (Yeshua) was hardly a thought in my head. I know God used this movie to begin my journey of bringing me into a saving relationship with Him through Yeshua. At the time (and still), it is so hard to watch because I realize that it wasn’t just the people then that killed Yeshua – my sins killed Him too. It broke my heart to see and have even a slight clue as to how much He suffered so I could be reunited with my heavenly Father and no longer separated (Isaiah 59:2) from Him. I was washed, made holy and set right in the name of Yeshua the Messiah and by the Spirit of God (1 Corinthians 6:11).

I realize now, without God – I am miserable, pitiable, poor, blind and naked – I can do nothing and I am nothing apart from Him! (Revelation 3:17, John 15:5)

Through my salvation (Acts 4:12), I am now a child of God (Galatians 3:26, John 1:12) and set apart for His good works (1 Peter 2:9, Ephesians 2:10).

Glory to God!

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Messiah. – 2 Corinthians 4:6 TLV

In case you want to watch the scene I am referring to in The Passion of the Christ here it is – The Crucifixion scene.

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing];
The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him,
And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. – Isaiah 53:5 AMP

For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My [own] life so that I may take it back. No one takes it away from Me, but I lay it down voluntarily. I am authorized and have power to lay it down and to give it up, and I am authorized and have power to take it back. This command I have received from My Father. – John 10:17-18 AMP
