Scripture Focus: ‘They do not say in their heart, “Let us now fear and worship the Lord our God [with profound awe and reverence], Who gives rain in its season, Both the autumn and the spring rain, Who keeps for us The appointed weeks of the harvest.” – Jeremiah 5:24 AMP
As I read this scripture, I see it on the surface – of God’s provision for the land and also His provision to us for food.
I wanted to look at the meanings of a few words:
Fear – reverential awe, especially toward God
Worship – reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.
Season – one of the four periods of the year, a period of the year when something is best or available, any period or time.
Harvest – the season when ripened crops are gathered, a supply of anything gathered at maturity and stored, the result or consequence of any act, process, or event.

I see it too as a harvest in our lives. That which we plant or sow we shall also reap (Galatians 6:7) – good or bad. Also, that God, rains or pours Himself into us by the Holy Spirit – and we grow and in the right season we bear fruit – a harvest. The fruits of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). I also think about my business – that if I keep sowing into my business then I will reap a harvest – maybe that means more exposure on social media, clients, speaking at churches in the women’s ministry or any number of things – it depends on how God wants to use me through my business.
I get up every morning with anticipation of how God will use me that day. I am blessed to be His child and to know that I have been created for His good works (Eph 2:10).
